The evolution of new solutions created by Gennaretti has passed down to the treatment of slurry from both horizontal and vertical perforations and of cement spoil treatment.
The use of the decanter centrifuge allows the treatment of bentonite slurries from hydromill, TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) or MTBM (Micro Tunnel Boring Machine) and HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) works. During the excavation works, the decanter centrifuge can separate and recycle the bentonite slurry used, while the water is clarified and reused for producing new bentonite or for building site activities. In addition, the decanter centrifuge is provided with the solids control system, which permits the management of slurry density.
In cement spoil’s field, the decanter centrifuge is the ideal choice for both the dewatering and PH correction of slurry, deriving from jet grouting and foundation works.
We manufacture polyvalent and high-performance decanter centrifuges for both sludge dewatering and thickening. Our plants include the preparation of the polymer or flocculant with automatic preparation stations. By means of our software, it is possible to adjust the polymer variable. With a solid inlet variation of 1%, 60% of the polymer will be saved.
We work in support of circular economy and renewable energy development. In fact, we can supply plants for biowaste and biomass treatment for biogas production. The high construction quality of GHT decanter centrifuge allows reaching at least 5-6% more dry solid.
Furthermore, the decanter centrifuge can be employed for water treatment, also deriving from the recycling of materials (such as plastic), removing the contaminants from water.
The mining industry has always paid attention to water recycling and to consumption rationalise. For this reason, the decanter centrifuge is the ideal choice for slurry dewatering from mineral extraction works. Quarry and drilling slurries are generally considered complex to be treated, due to their high abrasiveness and density. Therefore, they require high performance centrifuges with high resistance to wear and where the solid dimensions do not influence the dewatering.
Our decanter centrifuge can treat mining tailings, namely mineral residuals deriving from mineral extraction in the form of slurries. Moreover, it is employed for the final treatment of aggregrate washing and recycling.
Food and beverage
The current trend to consume fresh products allows a wide application of our GHT decanter centrifuge, thanks to the process speed and the functioning at low temperatures. It is the solution for the separation or clarification of agricultural products (i.e. tomatoes, kiwis, lemons, oranges etc.). It can thicken the product, such as the processing of tomato pulp, in which it removes water and keeps the solid part, and it can clarify liquids for the preparation of juices and beverages.
The decanter centrifuge can also treat slurries deriving from food products’ washing, a process that takes place before the separation and the clarification.
In the chemical sector, the decanter centrifuge is used in salt separation or in the washing process of solid products to extract liquids full of useful substances. In this particular field, the substances to treat are often very aggressive; therefore, the use of corrosion resistant materials is required for the wet parts (the bowl, the screw, the solid and liquid discharge); i.e. Duplex or Superduplex steel.
The current regulations regarding the respect for the environment enforce companies in the petrochemical industry to treat their hazardous industrial waste that can be transformed into secondary raw materials. The main waste created by the petrochemical industry is slop oil, a substance composed of heavy hydrocarbons and other contaminants, generated by the residues of a petroleum product mixed with water in sedimentary deposits.
In this case, the decanter centrifuge must be suitable for explosion-risk area and must be ATEX certified. It becomes an essential tool to clean the tanks, for the solid-liquid separation and the successive oil-water separation of the slop oil.
Our GHT decanter centrifuge can be used for the applications in ATEX classified areas, according to the current ATEX directive, as well as in the chemical and petrochemical sectors and where these applications are necessary.
From paper production, water and cellulose are the main waste product in form of slurry, classified as non-hazardous, which, however, should be suitably separated via centrifugation to recycle the water and eliminate the polluting substances, which present themselves in various forms, such as suspended solids, sedimentary substances, colloidal substances and dissolved substances.
A further application of the decanter centrifuge is in the recycling process of the waste paper, that is waste pulper (deriving from the separation of the fiber from unrefined impurities) and de-inking sludge (only produced if the removal of ink from the waste paper is involved). This process is necessary to extract a re-usable fiber from the waste paper to make new paper.
