Decanter centrifuge

GHT VF

How does it work?

In the V (variable) type decanter centrifuge, the motion is transmitted to the bowl by means of one electric motor driven by an inverter. The same motor powers a hydraulic pump system, which, by means of a hydraulic motor, rotates the screw.
The variation of the screw rotation speed is continuous and automatic and it takes place through two procedures:

  • at constant rotation (the differential rotation is constant and the transmission power depends on the percentage of input solid);
  • at constant torque (the modulation of the differential revs. depends on the percentage of input solid).

The working principle of the decanter centrifuge is based on the specific weight difference of the solid-liquid substances to treat.
The separation takes place in the bowl, which rotates at high speed and multiplies thousands of times the force of gravity. The screw’s function is to put out the solid, which deposits in the bowl.

Dynamism

The solution is ideal for the treatment of materials with variable characteristics by means of the “G” force variation.

High perfomances

It can treat high volumes of material, allowing high performances.

Electronical control

The decanter centrifuge can be managed automatically from PLC and HMI.

Strength points

The position of the drive system allows having it all on one side beyond the motor in the upper part, taking up rational space in the upper part of the decanter centrifuge.
The construction concept allows having an extreme compact and silent drive system.
Adequate probes control the drive power and the rating of the screw’s rotation electronically.

This model is recommended when the product to treat has variable inlet characteristics and a very high dry solid outlet is required, by means of the variation of the force of gravity produced.
