In this sector the centrifuge is used to process agricultural products such as tomatoes, lemons, oranges, kiwi, mangos and all those products to be separated or clarified. Use can be for thickening of a product, as for example the processing of tomato pulp, where we remove the water and keep the solid part, and for further clarification of the liquid, a typical example is that of the preparation of juices and beverages.
In order to prevent oxygenation during processing, some products require the pressurised treatment of liquids and for this purpose the centrifuge can be equipped with a centripetal pump. Another application, always to prevent separation of the product in contact with oxygen, involves a modification to the centrifuge that allows the separation process in an environment modified with nitrogen or other gases.
